Standard desktop and notebook memory prices have remained stable over the past few weeks due to an increase in the USD and falling DRAM prices. This month we have seen the introduction of DDR3 notebook memory in new Acer and Apple notebooks as Intel begins to support the DDR3 standard with its new chipset for the Centrino 2 processor range. As more manufacturers begin to pick up the DDR3 specification, manufacturers should begin to increase production of the DDR3 memory as well. We have more then 25,000 models and also have refreshed our support
section to include the second edition of the Upgradeable Memory

With Microsoft's SP1 update for Windows Vista generally being made available for download during April; how much memory will your pc require? Realistically, for optimal performance anything above 2GB of memory will be suited for the higher end editions, while 1GB will be optimal for the Home Basic edition. The advanced graphical interface and new background services (that take up quite a bit of memory before the first application is opened) is why the extra amount of memory is required to run the various editions of Windows Vista.
