The model number for your Sony VAIO notebook will begin with either "PCG" or "VGN". The model number will be printed on a label, located between the top of the keyboard and the bottom of the LCD screen. See the image for an example. The code listed on the Sony sticker on the base of the notebook is not the correct information to identify the model of your Sony VAIO notebook.
